We booked Ran 6 months before our trip to Sri Lanka. As promised he picked us up at the airport for the most wonderful 14 day tour of Sri Lanka. He is a gentle and very honourable person with a great sense of humour. This was my third trip to Sri Lanka in the past 25 years so I had a good idea of what I wanted to do and show my family. Ran helped me arrange a memorable trip and my 2 children, aged 10 and 12, got on with him incredibly well; he made them feel safe and he really listened to what they wanted to do. He arranged a fantastic safari and so much more, and made good suggestions during our trip of where to go, stopping off at some truly beautiful places. Ran is very knowledgeable and made visiting the country that much more enjoyable. He is full of interesting facts and the kids really did learn a lot from him. He is a very considerate and safe driver and his van is comfortable and spacious. If you are looking for a driver and tour guide I would highly recommend getting in touch with Ran. We've travelled twice with Ran now — we first met him in 2008 when my partner and I booked a holiday through a tour company. He was an excellent guide back then and we recommended him to two friends and stayed in touch. In 2018, we went back to Sri Lanka with my parents-in-law and 5 year old son. This time Ran arranged a full 9 day tour for us, including bed and breakfast in good 3 star hotels, for a very reasonable price. He's a very friendly, knowledgeable and dependable guide and, on both tours, has really helped us make the most of our time in Sri Lanka. When one of our party suffered a fracture he was absolutely brilliant at getting us the medical help we needed, and replanned our accommodation and activities accordingly. We would absolutely recommend him and hope to travel with him again.

My family — my wife and daughter, aged 10 — and I have been travelling around beautiful Sri Lanka for 6 days with Ranjith Alwis as guide and driver. Before we arrived in Sri Lanka, we had made our own bookings at the different hotels. Unfortunately we got in contact with Ran after the hotels were booked, when we now know that he can arrange fantastic hotels all around Sri Lanka. We started at the airport and went to Pinnawala, Kandy, Ella and stopped in Unawatuna. During these 6 days, we had a terrific guide and driver in Ran. The car was comfortable and very clean, perfect for us as a small family with a lot of luggage. Ran as a guide is very experienced, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Always on time, well prepared and in a good mood, which we appreciated. When you travel with children, you also know that sometimes you need to be flexible, as a family and as a driver. Ran was very good at paying attention to our daughter's wellbeing and at finding things she would appreciate. Finally, we can also mention that Ran is a very good driver with a comfortable driving style. We would gladly recommend Ran as a guide and driver! Thanks Ran for some fantastic days together!

Ran is a perfect choice for a budget Sri Lankan experience. We were very happy with his selection of small hotels, which allowed us to experience local culture whilst feeling very comfortable. It was also a hassle-free holiday as Ran took care of everything and always had advice for the next day's tour, which was great. He has a very good knowledge of the island and its wildlife of course, and can answer any question you may have — a huge bonus. Most importantly he is a very honest person you can trust.
