Initially we thought Ran would serve primarily as a chauffeur; however, Ran surpassed all expectations by providing much more than that. His services included translations; ensuring the places you stay and visit are sanitary and Covid compliant, as he would not even stay in guest houses that were subpar; verifying and recommending safe local eating establishments, as we wanted to eat true local cuisine and after several times we never got sick; providing historical, cultural, and sightseeing information; full-fledged tour customisation and itinerary planning; tour optimisation to ensure you're getting the best value; purchasing assistance, helping to avoid tourist markups and pointing out safe shopping establishments; safe storage and transit of luggage and travel gear, even when we weren't with our gear and needed it couriered to us at a different location; prompt arrivals and recommendations for travel times and routes to take and avoid; and calling ahead to hotels to notify them we were on the way and to ensure everything was ready. Having Ran with you is like having an entire team helping you navigate a foreign land while maximising your value and the time spent doing activities that match your interests. He is very protective of you and your time. Ran takes his role as your travel advisor very seriously. His van was always clean, constantly swept and tidied, and he understood the importance of wearing a mask and sanitising his hands frequently, even more often than we did. In a country that doesn't watch the clock, Ran was always very early to pick us up. On our departure we misread the time and needed to be picked up at 3am instead of 5am. Not a problem — we texted Ran that night and he was there early that morning. One example of Ran's usefulness was when we needed a Covid test for our next travel date and found out that only certain areas of the country offered them. Ran called up the tourism authority and got in contact with a local hospital, arranged for clinical staff to travel to our hotel, and coordinated all of this with hotel management. He followed up with the clinic repeatedly to ensure our samples had arrived and that we would get the results in time. He single-handedly turned a potential headache into a seamless experience and we were able to continue our vacation without worrying. There were other experiences like this as well. The bottom line is that if you don't have Ran guiding you, then I guarantee you are going to overpay, put yourself at risk, and not have nearly the experience that you could have had. Having Ran with us on the trip made me realise that this type of service is invaluable and that I have been missing out on it on many of my other trips.

Two weeks with Ran made our holiday that much more special. He has a wealth of knowledge about Sri Lanka. His English is very good. Ran is professional, always arrived a few minutes early, and had lots of helpful suggestions about places to visit, eat and shop, and good photo opportunities. He is flexible and very good natured with a good sense of humour, which makes him very easy to get along with. We would recommend him with complete confidence.

Previous reviews encouraged me to contact Ran when planning a trip to Sri Lanka with my family. The quick email contact and several alternative travel plans with a clear and very competitive price convinced me to use Ran's services. We spent 7 wonderful days with Ran travelling intensively around beautiful Sri Lanka. Thanks to Ran the journey was safe and we gained a lot of knowledge about local history, culture and cuisine. We visited a lot of local places and could see the real Sri Lanka off the beaten path. Ranjith is a very professional guide with a great sense of humour, and the wellbeing of his customers is always on his mind. Our family is very thankful for his services; we highly recommend him as a guide and as a nice person who will be one of our best memories from Sri Lanka!

We had a great experience thanks to Ranjith. First, great English to understand — not everyone speaks English in Sri Lanka, and you often have to ask twice to understand the answer, but with Ranjith we understood everything and even improved our English. Second, interesting stories and facts about history and modern life; we had the opportunity to ask any kind of question, so we got much more information than we could have otherwise, including historical facts and the way of life in today's Sri Lanka. Third, peaceful hotels with incredible views and vibes that we could never have chosen ourselves — you need experience to know and choose these hotels, a car to get there, and the right routes. The place you stay has a real effect, because you can see little nuances that influence your mood: fireflies in a pine forest, sunrise in the mountains, rest in a rice field, authentic design places that feel like home. So you can rely on his taste. Fourth, a safe driver with extensive experience, and convenient places to sleep even while in the car. Fifth, a comfortable person — someone who will help solve personal issues and who will be on your side under any circumstances. We booked Ran a long time before our trip based on other testimonials and we were very pleased that we did. From the very first email contact Ran was always quick to respond and helped us to finalise our itinerary. Although we booked our own accommodation, Ran can do this for you if you'd prefer, at very reasonable prices. Ran is a very well educated and knowledgeable man and a very safe driver, which you definitely need on the roads in Sri Lanka. His knowledge of the history, flora and fauna enhanced our trip and it was nice to have the local knowledge of the best times and days to do certain activities. Our 17 day trip with Ran went very smoothly as he was always on time, friendly, informative and showed great concern for our welfare. When our son was sick in Kandy he said to call him any time if we wanted to take him to the hospital. It didn't end up being necessary but it was great to know we had someone to call on if we needed. Ran totally understands that it is your holiday so he will give you the help but also the space you need to enjoy your trip. I can highly recommend Ran and his clean and comfortable van!

We just spent 15 days discovering and exploring amazing Sri Lanka. This experience was greatly enhanced by our guide and driver Ran. His experience and knowledge meant we not only saw the essentials but also some very special places. Ran is a true professional and I would highly recommend him.
